The Story of Gaby Nettoyeur: A Family Legacy of Excellence and Passion

Gaby Nettoyeur, located at 13504 Curé-Labelle in the Saint-Janvier sector, is a witness to history in Mirabel. The family business was first called Nettoyeur Bouchard, founded in 1954 by Marcel Bouchard in the lower part of Sainte-Thérèse. Unfavorable economic conditions got the better of this first version of the business, but in 1958, Gabriel Bouchard, Marcel's son, took over by offering a home pick-up and delivery service. At that time, everyone needed to have their clothes cleaned and pressed.

Réjean, Gabriel's son, has very fond memories of his youth, when he accompanied his father through the streets of Mirabel, Blainville and the surrounding areas. To meet demand, Gabriel worked 5 to 6 days a week, depending on the time of year, collecting and delivering clothes that he had cleaned by a subcontractor. Known by the nickname Gaby, it was in 1987 that Gabriel and Réjean decided to name their new business "Gaby Nettoyeur" when they opened their first dry cleaner on Victor Street. The business officially opened its doors on April 1, 1987, before moving to its current premises on Curé-Labelle Boulevard on November 15, 2001.

In 2003, Réjean bought out his father's shares to become the sole owner of the family business. Since 2006, his daughter Laurence has joined the team part-time, at the age of 15. At 18, she started her own cleaning route, and for the past 15 years, she has been offering pick-up and delivery services to businesses and in certain residential areas of several municipalities, between Mirabel and Laval, while Réjean holds the reins at the cleaners.
